they work, everything is fine, just seems wrong that there should be that gap. the end of the spring arm sits in the little whole, the brakes have a small amount of slide. i tightened up the bolts as far as i dared, didn't want to really tighten incase the studs pull into the v brakes in a disastrous manner
have just bought some shimano mini-vs and they so not sit flush on the surly brake studs or the easton ones on my forks. the slightly stepped part of the stud is what is stopping the movement as far as i can see. it can only be a few mm interference stopping it so should i just take a bit of sandpaper to the hole in the brakes?
