Haha, you're right, it's actually 84,6". I had just copied what I found on a website as on this side of the pond we're used to the metric system..

It was posted in jest. I assumed that you had converted development directly into inches.

I was brought up on metric, but I find both metric and imperial easy in terms of feel. EXCEPT for gear ratios, I always need to convert a development into gear inches to visualise how much it will make my knees hurt :D

Same here, brought up in metric and have used the imperial system for a few years but in my case it's the ratio that speaks to me..

Aren't the cups identical? Hence why people sometimes install them upside down.

That's the intention but sometimes due to manufacturing tolerances of headtubes and cups work better a certain way around in my experience.
