• Settled on DA7800 28h hubs laced to Kinlin XR19 silver rims, Sapim Race on the rear and Sapim Laser on the front, handbuilt by Harry Rowland. Haven't ridden them yet but they are beautifully quiet and light.

Have fitted a pair of 25mm Michelin Pro 4s. I wanted gum walled, or maybe white walled tyres but it meant spending more money for no gain in weight or durability. Maybe next time, if anyone has any
suggestions (I did trawl the tyres thread)

Was warned about DA 7800 hubs having compatibility issues but it turns out all shimano ultegra and DA 10spd cassettes fit. Have fitted a nice light DA 7900 cassette, was the best quality for the budget I had. Came in a bundle with a Decent KMC chain.

In the post is a nearly new 78oo crankset.

To be finished with mix of 105 and Ulegra parts off my other Basso.
coming next summer next summer are DA 7800 derailleures and brakes.

Cockpit and finishing kit are straight off the other bike for comfort and budget.
The fizik saddle is nice but would rather it was all black.
Pedals will be, shock horror, spuds. Which all means I can jump on the bike and ride it in my same shoes. I also need comfy bars in a particular position due to long running hand problems.

This is another area I could do with advice on: are there any decent quality silver bars that have a shoulder to create a flat transition from bar to lever hood?
