  • I'll probably only shift once or twice in a race so should be ok

Ditch 7 or 8 of the sprockets then?

  • 100g - file down the pedals, and the RD, there was some guy on Weight Weenies that reduced a DA RD to about 2/5 of the weight with a file and some other bits. Head set cap can go.

It's making me wonder where I can drop the weight on mine now

  • The rear mech can be tuned, you're right. Kits from Germany on eBay. Of course there's no top cap!

  • They're all stuck together. It's pretty cool actually, like a tube that goes over the free hub body, hollow up to the teeth, only the 11t is removable.

  • Slot & polish brake levers, an easy 3g right there.

  • Plot twist: OP weighs 93kg.

But seriously, surely you can loose 100g off yourself more easily?

  • ^ there it is! #justhaveapoo

  • I've always hated that you still have to pay a £1 card processing fee for every additional CTT event you enter. Surely the card payment is only processing the once and CTT allocate the funds to the individual event organisers?

  • Had to come at some point.

The aim of the game is to lose 100g off me and 100g off the bike.

I can't really be fucked with dieting though. I eat well and I'm not really drinking until November.

  • Amen. It's annoying.

  • You're one of those awful 'naturally skinny' people.

Are you riding Walbury? I might ride over and watch.

  • Yeah, after your recommendation. You should ride it!

  • Ideas on how to lose 100g for no money are welcome

    ride naked?

  • shave your head
    speedos or summat
    water fast/no salt?

the bike is a tough one for free, glue/epoxy/wizardry instead of bolts?
    nitrogen in the tubes?
    mad dremel attacks??

  • PBed on Swains and Highgate West so that's good. Might well swap out the bars for chopped down ones - as predicted it's pretty hard to change gear while at full pelt but I reckon it's an ok trade off.

  • Swapped the bars out for something a little less comfortable. Amusingly the holes for internal cabling now make a nice low flute-like note above 25kph.

  • You're using cable end frays I see, weighty weighty

  • Superglue that sucker

  • Or just nothing.

  • Also valid.

Do a pie, eat less poo ... etc etc

  • Do you need both bolts holding that stem?

  • Drill levers

  • Are you going to make a fixie out of it to see how low you can go with weight?

  • I'd venture a guess and say you could probably dremel out quite a bit of material from the hinges on the brake levers.

  • I thought about it. I don't have a light fixed wheel though. Might have to come and noise up the Death TT if I can find one.

Turns out Conti Supersonic tubes are bullshit and haven't even lasted to the first race.
