• Yep - tbf I started in Prem but really understood NLEs properly by having to use Media Composer when I worked in a newsroom (even though I took those lessons back to Prem when I left). Like you I'd probably find Resolve clunky to work with - seeing all the nodes etc when I sit in on a colourist using it freaks me out.

  • Version 14 has just come out and they're making some pretty big claims with regards to improvements to the editing side of things so it'll be interesting to see if it's true.

    If you run your own shop and do any sort of conform/finishing then the full version of resolve is a no brainer, and if you don't do much after effects work it could be worth migrating but I do the majority of my work at post houses and agencies and they're all Avid or Premiere, I haven't ever even opened fcpx because I don't know a single house that uses it and there's no point in learning software that no one will pay me to use.
