I wonder how many forum members live in Felixstowe 🤔

You can qualify even if you don't live here. We are open-minded about that kind of thing.

What a coincidence! This is a Var truing stand. I've had one for 25 years that has gradually got more and more beaten up. I've bought a cheap Park one now with a plan to restore the Var. This item would be really great because mine is missing some bits and the sprung-loaded run-out guides are rusty and don't work so well. But I am not close....happy to pay the considerable postage and make a forum donation? It can be split into two halves to make a more compact package.

No word of a lie, I bought one last night.

As user68263 says you really need two.

Where are you?

Northampton.

I'd prefer someone to come to the front door and take it, but let's see.

• #11
Massive price reduction!
-
• #12
Would be all over that if I was anywhere close

• #13
Still in my shed. Still works. Still free.

Dang this is tempting.
The bugger is that I was in Suffolk three weeks ago. In a car.
If my travels take me that way again, I'll swing by.
No dibs mind.

• #15
@user68263 might still be interested?
-
• #16
Maybe I'll get more interest if I put a price on it.
So, £0.20p.

Ok, so I may actually be in the area around the 23rd June, I'm down for the great east swim at Alton Water which is a hop skip and a jump from Felixstowe, the only thing I would have to coordinate would be the logistics! looking at it now it would be some time in the afternoon, if this would potentially work for you let me know and I can try and organise myself (and convince my wife) to get to Felixstowe after the swim.

23 June should be fine. Alton is only 20 minutes away. And you can swim again at Felixstowe - right outside our front door we have the only south facing beach in the whole of East Anglia.
But it is still first come first served.

no worries, I wouldn't ask you to hold on to it, will see what the wife is saying to it, I'm sure another 20 mins in a car after driving down from Aberdeenshire the day before will go down a treat :) (Although she did say she would get me a wheel building course one year for my birthday and never did so maybe I'll use that in my favour)
-
• #20
You could point out that at 20p this jig is a whole lot cheaper than a wheel building course ...
-
• #21
Will make it painfully clear, she is also currently feeling superbly guilty today as it's my Birthday and isn't as prepared as she would like to be, lol! Will be banking it for next weekend :)

Be pitiless.

RW, looks like we're on, I sent a text to the number above, did you get it?
-
• #24
Yes, all okay. Will PM address.
This is a French-made wheel building / truing jig.
It works but it is rusty, and a bit crude. It is also free to a good home.
Catch is it's in Felixstowe, Suffolk. You have to come and get it.
