  • Very sad... I was never a Husker Du fan but for some reason was always drawn to Grant Hart, he loved the same bands I did and was very much the tortured, self destructive genius...

I got to meet him last year when he came through Brisbane and although he was quite frail he played two amazing shows one Sunday... He complimented a silver charm of a nut (as in nut and bolt) I had on my neck chain and, quite out of character, I took it off the chain and just gave it to him... I felt really good about it too, he played and sang his heart out that day and it felt like the right thing to do... Strange, lovely man...

    Vale, Grant...

  • A lovely bloke. met him at the Water Rats at the launch gig for The Argument. Which is a proper beat(nik) album. Such a pleasure to hang out with. Some proper stories from that night...
Absolutely fuggin loved Husker Du. Still the most ferocious band I've ever seen.
Grant was a brilliant drummer, a better songwriter and singer than Mould, with an awesome ear for a tune.
    Really sad news.
