  • Okay. I've hit a serious snag. I planned on having this bike ready for riding today, and noticed something about my rear wheel.

I bought a HED Disc from Forum member @pullingteth. I assumed that it had cog and lockring threads, so would be fine to ride on the road. This morning, I discovered that this interface is actually just screwed onto some freewheel threads on the wheel, and the wheel actually has no capacity for the use of a lockring. Surely this means that the wheel isn't safe for use on the road, right?

  • It'll unscrew during skidding yes. You can jb weld/loctite or screw it up incredibly tight using rotafix (google it, it works)
