^^ Would.
Any recommendations for OTP touring or fast tourer mixtes? OH has a dicky hip so wants the reduced standover height, but would like something that isn't a boat anchor for her commute. Needs guard and rack mounts - or would I be better off trying to find an old 531 frame in the right size and building it up?

For commuting a Gazelle Van Stael would do the job, but it's 7 gears only, so that might limit its use if you want to go further afield.
I finally finished my gf's Soma Buenavista. It was way trickier to spec than I expected (she didn't want drops) and not really cheap either, despite using some of an old Ultegra groupset of mine. Saying so I'd like to think it's miles better than an old Peugeot off Ebay, and she's getting exactly what she needs and wants. I'll post pics soon. -

My girlf also picked up a grater and it's a great little runabout. She does want to get some more swept handlebars though which seem to be hard to find in 31.8mm (and black to match) anyone got any suggestions?

Would love to see some larger mixtes if anyone sees any images.
Here's one I just saw on pinterest that looks a bit like a dutch priests' frame, called the Achielle Craighton Crossframe

Humpert, FSA Metropolis, or MTB so-called alt-bars.

Saddles with springs work well tilted back a touch, esp on slack geo bikes.

I'm daydreaming. Would it be a completely stupid idea to have a disc brake put on an old 531 mixte frame? Fork would be aftermarket disc ready. I've seen this:

Hey, Charge Grater Mixte 0 owners: can you please let me know what's going on with the rear wheel spacing? Internet research suggests the rear wheel has is a 120 hub with a long axle for the 135 spacing. Is that correct? TIA.

A mini velo mixte:

It's alu, it weighs precisely fuck all compared to her pug. The wheels are pretty light as well actually considering price. I was pleasantly surprised all round. Shame there's no bottle boss and the stock tyres look rubbish but Liz loves the ride compared to her previous bike. I've been round the block on it and it's pretty damn fun.
It's the 2016, think Evans still have some for cheaps in a few sizes.
New tyres for winter, maybe some nicer grips and it's done. Would have looked better with black guards, wald and saddle but they look fine for hand me downs.
