Thanks for the offer @TheShipwright. I'll take a look this evening/tomorrow and let you know if that's ok? Might be that it works enough for a commuter bike!

Have found my old hub it's not an 8r36 (sorry) but an 8r25.
Carrier unit has a different part no of 98020 but you're more than welcome to take it and have a go with it.
Might be the bearings are the same size but the internals of the carrier are different?
