Contacted Vanilla Bikes about a pre-order of the R8070 groupset.

They've said they can offer it to me at £1499 with calipers. cables etc. He says once released will be £1599

What is the hive mind about this? A good price, or do we think that others will have it lower?

What's the current Ultegra/disc setup at? What was it last year? What was its price at release?
That will give you some idea of the likely price drop. I would just buy it now because it'll be sold out for months afterwards anyway...

When you put it that way it is a good price I guess. Current setup is around £1350
