• At road pressures, don't do it. More supple sidewalls in non-tubeless tyres mean blowouts are more likely. (So I've heard on the internet, never tried it personally)

    Hutchinson tyres are popular over the pond and have a few tubeless readies, panaracer also.

  • Ah, yeah, I think that was the gist of that article up thread about that brand of fat tubeless tyres I can't remember. I guess it's because back in the day I remember people doing it a lot with MTBs but they're obviously running much lower pressures. It's funny how I'll ride 'ready to explode' rims but just thinking about riding tubeless worries me. It's like 20+ years ago with the irrational carbon fear.. not that I could afford to ride carbon back then.

  • I wouldn't chance it, myself.

    Although I've done it with CX tyres at 35psi or so. But it it's very easy to take the sidewall out if you clatter it in to something.
