  • Quit your job, form a startup and recruit him.

  • I'd do it myself but am a bit busy :)

  • Meh, already done by people with apparently relevant skills: https://www.electricclassiccars.co.uk/

  • Wouldn't be the worst business idea.

We were talking about this at work. Things like the ULEZ should also push up demand. If you could tie it into purchasing freehold property as storage units to give extra assetbacking plus maybe some sort of leasing option... on paper it sounds like a great investment.

It's just finding some people who aren't fuckwits to do it.

I also really, really want an electric classic mini van (but with a river front end and glass rear quarters). Last time I looked it was £25-35k + shell depending on set up.

    @Jung > Non-correlated with what though?

Well yes, there will be a correlation with something. But I meant in its ordinary meaning as price not directly correlated to the equity and bond markets - like art or wine.

  • It's just finding some people who aren't fuckwits

True in all life endeavors right?

Given the climate here in aus there's probably more classic bodyshells surviving and a healthy EV modding community. They're a bit strange though, weirder than citroen folk.

  • that new 1000hp merc hypercar has a 1.6 engine, hopefully not the one out of the a160

  • It's their F1 engine - which says something about the reliability of their F1 engine if they are considering putting it into a (very expensive) road car.

  • On the EV chat. I found this site full of DIY EVs
    http://www.evalbum.com/

Now really, really want to build a 2CV to leave with my folks in France. It was my old man's first car too.

The only problem is I don't think you can have a/c with EVs and a few of the 2cv builds I've found don't have working heaters.... leaving a relatively small window of daytime driving in the year.

Quick estimation would be that it just needs to do 40-50mph with a range of 30 miles.

  • New Insignia GSI looking kinda hot

  • Spot the difference

Many modern cars look very similar.

  • You can build in climate control. It's just added cost and complexity with less range for a given battery pack.

A 2cv would be great fun.

  • Speaking of old things... Here's a zombie Apocalypse land Rover I saw on a lunchtime stroll

  • That S2 pickup is beautiful. Love that.

Strange what they have done to the front arches though.

  • the paintjob on that 110... Airfix?

  • Be careful what you say.

There's a good chance the owner keeps a loaded BB gun in his glove box next to the paracord.

  • may have kung fu grip.

  • They need to ditch Vauxhall and rebrand as Opel over here

  • would.

  • Never happen, Essex and Kent would be ablaze. "YOU'D THINK THEY WON THE WAR!"

Sun headlines write themselves "Vauxhall NAZI insignia?"

  • I've had a bronze one of them (well, a holden gemini) on two wheels

  • Any reason to avoid topping up an engine full of 10w40 Mobil one with 10w40 Castrol GTX?
