People who pride themselves on integrity lauding a proven doper. How 'exciting' a racer do you have to be to mitigate the cheating?
Congratulations to Froome (and Poels); riders who don't, and I'm sure never will, have shameful footnotes on their palmares. -

Reminiscent of that bloke riding away from wiggins on the telegraph but still good to watch. Not as good as roche its steven roche .

lol.

Poor Bertie, y u so mad just because he got caught?
-

Whilst I enjoyed today's stage, am I the only one who thinks they might have let Bertie escape just a little bit too easily? Obviously Nibs didn't intend to fall, the ITV4 highlights had little until AC was 30 seconds away...

It wasn't obvious on the live coverage how it happened - Kirby and Kelly thought Contador had been dropped rather than escaped.
If he'd been closer to Froome on GC he wouldn't have got away and I suspect Froome could have caught him if he had really wanted to but that would have been undiplomatic. He and Poels showed what they had left at the end. -

Kirby is a retard.
It was obvious contador was off the front and had attacked on the descent.

I don't like your choice of words.

I will miss Bertie in the GTs, but plan to visit his steakhouse in the Spanish hills once he retires from cycling media corporate eventing circus. La Vuelta has given a nation a great farewell to one of its heroes.
I will never forget the day we met at Dulwich College with VCL and the brilliant advice he give publicly to my step daughter about getting back on the track bike after her horrendous crash at HHV in 2013.
Adios amigo..

Can someone confirm if true that wanker Kirby was crying over Froome winning?
-
• #437
Just when you thought he couldn't get more annoying
-
• #438
I thought he choked up when eulogising Contador?
-
• #439
Ha!
-
• #440
Yeah it was about Contador. But it seemed very contrived. He had just said something inane like "there'll be no dry eye in the house" and then did a comedy breakdown.
-
• #441
As exciting as Contador is, nothing he can add to the racing makes up for the fact that he cheated, and should never have been allowed to race again.
Froome's and Sky's dominance can make the GTs a little predictable but the fact that he's doing it almost certainly clean is hugely impressive, and the main reason it's sometimes dull is that even those with shady pasts (and presents? I'll never trust Zakarin again) can't compete.
I'd definitely take integrity over excitement, that will come later when we can be more confident the sport is clean.
Fuck off Bertie.
-
• #442
He was probably drunk.
-
• #443
almost certainly clean
Wut?
-
• #444
Has Froome ever been directly linked to any doping scandal or failed a test?
I'll give you a clue, the answer has two letters and begins with n.
-
• #445
Almost certainly
-
• #446
About as much as mo farrar or that woman who had a wee in the street. All have come clean . Just chris far more so but doesn't bleet on about dopers . He did get a cup of pee in his face don't forget .

Just seen the Madrid Challenge and that u-turn 1km from the finish is madness
-
• #448
Sky look to be making themselves very unpopular with some others in the peloton by looking like they're going to challenge for the intermediate sprint.
-
• #449
Top trolling from Froome!
-
• #450
That was a weird im-sprint
You can't have watched many races in years.
