I was about to recommend you put your money into a couple of bottles for that budget with one of them being the bunnahabhain 18yr (as their stuff is quite lightly peated in comparison to the rest of the island).
The peatiness mellows out the longer the maturation and with bunnahabhain already not being massively peaty I'd be interested to know how this ended up after 28 years. Pretty good price too, not suffering the usual crazy hike in price for 25 year olds and above. Cracking present.

it was distilled the year of his birth, from Islay, not so much peaty but by all accounts should be a good nip. Will try and get a dram of that Glendronach at some point, sounds lovely!
