  • The best whisky I've had recently was Glendronach 21. About £100 per bottle, non-chill filtered, 48% abv, really nice sherry essence. Maybe not what you're after as it has no peatiness and is a Highland whisky, but it's definitely something different and it's fucking amazing. Maybe get this and something peaty in the £80 range? 2 bottles of whisky>1 bottle of whisky.

  • I was about to recommend you put your money into a couple of bottles for that budget with one of them being the bunnahabhain 18yr (as their stuff is quite lightly peated in comparison to the rest of the island).

    The peatiness mellows out the longer the maturation and with bunnahabhain already not being massively peaty I'd be interested to know how this ended up after 28 years. Pretty good price too, not suffering the usual crazy hike in price for 25 year olds and above. Cracking present.
