  • To answer my own question from months ago: CX9's fit fine with a big mudguard and rando rack. Ed was spot on that the little rubber plug slightly touches the guard, might take it off but it doesn't affect braking as is. Huge upgrade over the old cantis.

  • £700 for a Planet X Nanolight approx 2011 ... too much? (with Team Vision 35 wheels, SRAM apex chainset, SRAM red shifters and mechs)

  • Why are eebrakes so expensive?

  • Why are eebrakes so expensive?

    Because they saw you coming.

  • I'm not up on modern-ish bikes at all, especially carbon, should this be more like £500 ish?

  • I will buy them regardless, I was just wondering. Is it good design + good manufacturing in small quantities so economics of scale cant be applied?

  • I've seen a couple on ebay recently, both newer with ultegra and the same wheels go between £550 and £700.

was watching this one recently and I think it sold for way more than it was worth.

  • Cheers - Pro Carbon about the same ballpark as Nanolight frame? in terms of quality/price

  • As far as I know, the pro-carbon is just the newer Nanolight.

  • Why are eebrakes so expensive?

They aren't, compared with THM Fibula or AX3000 🙂

  • Okay, looking to move a flat from London to Finland via shipping container. Removal services are nuts, and as our stuff is in storage already, not quite what we need. Anyone know of any companies worth getting in contact with?

  • When I moved from London to Denmark last year I used shiply.com.
I got a few quotes, including a very cheap one from a Romanian company which we finally chose. The service was even better than what we could have hoped for, although to be honest I was quite nervous it would go terribly wrong....
All of our stuff fitted in a LWB van though, so a whole container may be too big a load for the sort of companies that provide quotes on there. Worth a try though.
Best of luck with the move and the new life in Helsinki.

  • We could fit it in a lwb van, I think. Can I ask how much you paid?

  • Any recommendations for strong double sided sticky tape/pads?

The 3M stuff I have at the moment doesn't seem much cop.

  • What is the best solution to run Shimano hollowtech 2 cranks in a Tarmac Pro. I have a 2014 model with carbon Fact cranks currently fitted. I believe there is a carbon OSBB in there at the moment.

Is PF30, BB30 and OSBB all the same thing?

    Is this the best option?

  • got it in one.

@mdcc_tester and @Constable_Savage I hear ya, will not be milling that nasty.
I have carbon dust from bits, 'safely' stored (cos I'm weird) and wondered what dumb shit to do with it.
I guess crabon draughts it is...
    maybe bin.... probs experiments.

  • My brother-in-law is talking about flying over from Canada and moving our stuff (and us) in a rental van and making a big holiday out of it (London > Helsinki). Can't find any one-way rental places in the UK. Thinking of picking up in France and back tracking (benefit of also getting something which is right-hand drive).

Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?

  • Sorry you're leaving but best wishes etc. Will there be a tap-out?

    #mraksit

  • I doubt it. But maybe have another round of drinks before we finally make the move. Will probably only be in London for a few days when we get back from here (Canada).

  • Ur married? Does Adrienne know?

  • Is it normal to go the optician's for an eye test with good vision and come away half fucking blind?

  • Yep, most people think they've got great eyesight until it's tested.
