• If I get a free ride, I can teach you guys proper Italian on the way there :-D
Vaffanculo! E che cazzo! Ciao e buonanotte!

  • If anyone is looking for a frame with some amazing patina, look no further than this Carpenter from 1946.
Not mine I hasten to add as I don't sell anything, just buy, buy, buy! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382204006098

  • I no longer live in Southend, based in Wales now.
I'm so glad the old trike is still about!! It was so much fun to ride it, though challenging to start with.

  • Well that settles it!
The Welsh Valleys, October time, one Trike some classic lightweights and a beer or two.

  • Sounds like a plan

  • As plans go I think I prefer @7ven's, plan of Southend, if only because it's closer. It's a shame though as Wales would be nice.

  • I could do either but probably best for a Southend/Cambridge/Brighton ride.
    What dates work for everyone?

  • Inspired by our recent outing;

How does Sunday 22nd October sound, its the start of the half term?

  • How does Sunday 22nd October sound, its the start of the half term?

Sounds great to me. Want that saddle now too! Big wong though.

  • So I'm a few beers deep camping in western France and have put a bid in on this. Don't have the money but it's lovely. Hope someone out bids me.

  • I did the same with the Holdsworth path racer. No one else bid. Congrats on your new saddle :)

  • I'm sorely tempted, finishing touch to any bike and I'm looking at it as an investment.
I like the idea of Cambridge, not sure of a route though as I don't know the area at all.

  • I'm off duty on the 22nd, mind if I tag along? Worncleat recently did a route to Cambridge (repeatedly!!) in his thread '2000km in 10days'....but I'd be up for any ride if I can get there in time.....I'm not London based.

  • Sweet! More the merrier! What sort of kick-off would allow you plenty of time to get to London and then to the start line?

  • Depends where the ride is heading to? If Cambridge, I can meet halfway, or Southend, ride in early from here, but go straight home from there? I'm near Stansted airport, so about 3hours non stop to London (off road).
Or, if there is somewhere to park my camper, I can drive down.....I'm easy šŸ‘

  • How rigorous are you guys with the age of bikes in your rides?
If your ride to Cambridge in October did happen, I'd be interested (fatherhood duties allowing), but best I could come up with is my 1974 Bob Jackson track bike... :/

P.S. Would totally understood if you're strict about it

  • 1974 is older than me so plenty old enough :) No criteria really.

  • Hello,
for my late 50s Ephgrave project I am searching a headset suitable for 22 gauge tubes, i.e. it requires the headcups to have an Outside DiameterĀ at the insert of 30.2mm, and the crown cup to have an Inside Diameter -where it is pressed on the fork crown- of 26.4mm (which is the ISO Standard).
I am aware that Brampton's Alatet was available for 22 gauge tubes, and also TDC made headsets for 22 gauge tubes.
So if a period correct -ideally British make- headset should be for offer with good to very good race surfaces, I would be happy if contacted.
    Thank you for your attention!

  • I think 30.2mm is the normal size for modern headset cups. Stronglight A9 is that size, for example. I think any of the older 'roadster' style steel headsets fitted to Raleighs, BSA etc should fit.

  • I'm sorely tempted, finishing touch to any

    Did you win it?

  • forks look all wrong to me-too modern...

    interesting gearing though...

  • Lol!
I was going to ask you the same thing.)

  • Ha! So in a bizarre twist of fate, I get a "second chance" email today saying the winner pulled out and did I want it. I impulsively purchased it so whilst I didn't own it yesterday, I now do :)

  • Ps please don't post any more nice parts in here.
