Is it 126mm OLN?
If so could you not spring it to 130mm?Also there's someone on CTC who put a "outboard" bearing on the axle to support the freewheel. I think he trashed freewheels frequently on tandem.

I've bent a couple of classic threaded freewheel hubs over the past year or so (ofmega and gipiemme) so would be interested in this too. Velo orange and suzue seem to do new freewheel hubs in this size.
I built up an old Carlton touring frame for a pal of mine. He wanted to skimp on the rear wheel but rides it very hard 20 miles per day... result several months later is one mashed up Quando hub.
I think I've convinced him that if you want quality you need to pay a bit more.
What hub would be suitable for a 6-7 speed freewheel that would take a bit of abuse from a non-mechanically-minded fellow? I don't think he'd stretch to a Phil Wood. Can you get freehubs in this size?
