I moved he levers like that on the basis that if the fast people do it there must be some benefit... took about 10 minutes to adapt, and braking is not different to it being underneath the bars.
How do you operate them? With your thumb, or by wrapping a hand under the bar?
Yep, thumb, if you are used to swapping bikes regularly it's amazing how quickly you adapt.
