Its very long and low for a road bike i.e. its a track bike.

I usually ride a 50cm in most things, which normally ends up with my top tube around 53cm with whatever stem gets me where I need to be. An equally short friend reckons he gets away with a 52 in Spesh (he's got an S-Works which from what I can see the frame shape is pretty much the same)

what do you ride atm? compare stack and reach of langster with that.

Supersix Evo, Fuji Track & a Ribble Audax. The Evo and the Fuji are quite similar geos.
I'm looking at the geo chart for the Langster and rubbing my chin as we speak.

Evening all. Can anyone point me towards any better deals than this ... https://www.biketart.com/bikes-c1/road-bikes-c35/genesis-delta-30-bike-2016-p11613
Needs to be around a 58cm frame. Will be purely for commuting so no need for anything more fancy.

my 2016 CAAD8 (claris) was nicked over the weekend. the insurance folk have allowed me to choose something similar at no more than £600 as they can't find any CAAD8s in my size to make an exact like for like replacement.
my faves so far are the Ribble Audux 7005 (sora), which comes in at £599 if you have a fiddle with the various options, or I fancy the 2018 specialized E5 allez too - I like the stealthyness of it in all black, but it looks as though the stock parts aren't as snazzy as the Ribble.
is there anything similar to the CAAD8 / Ribble / Allez I might want to nosy at?

The Specialized frame will almost certainly be more fun and sporty. They've invested a lot in its development.
Worth having a look at Wiggle's Verenti bikes and Decathlon for that money.

thanks!
i had a glance at the verentis and nothing jumped out - but i'll revisit just in case.
I'd heard decathlon had catastrophically misjudged stock requirements over summer and had very little available atm until they get a re-up so hadn't really considered them, but I'll have a check there again too.

If your looking at ribble then you may as well get a dolan. Both about 30% of their real value . Get the spesh and the markup is no near as much . Warranty is excellent as well if you by from a proper spesh shop .

Focus Cayo Alu might be worth looking at

So I have just got a new job and can finally afford to buy a "bike with gears". I've been trying to get my head around how the marketplace works and I'm finding it very hard to find bikes with Campagnolo components, at least without going for a $$$$$$ Super Record monster. Can the forum's collective wisdom help me out here with what the options are? I'm after a proper road racing bike, up to around £3000 but will consider various options if they seem good value. For example, my first idea was a Ribble Audax with Centaur, but it turns out that's not possible. On the other hand, if this https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/ultimate/2018/ultimate-cf-slx-8-0.html came with Potenza instead of Ultegra I'd be sold already.
I've seen there's the Bianchi Oltre XR3 with Potenza for £3,300, but there's something I don't quite like about the bike, and why go over budget for something that's not right.
Hope this doesn't come across as too absurd or awkward. Just hoping there's people on here who know the current road bike market better than me who can offer some suggestions.

Apart from Italian brands the OEM market has moved on from Campagnolo. There's no economic justification for using it so you'd have to go custom build.

Build. Don't go off the peg.
-
• #7423
Yeah I was kind of getting that impression.. :\ In that case, what are people's best tips for doing that? Like, if you wanted a road racing bike with Campagnolo for less than 3k, what would you go for? I just feel kinda swamped/out of my depth & can't tell what does or does not represent good value :s

You can buy the canyon as frame only and built it up using Campagnolo groups.
Not sure about the pricing though -

Id get a second hand supersix or tarmac, 11s centaur or chorus (new) and the nicest s/h wheels you can afford. Demand for second hand campagnolo wheels is reasonably low, I got some nice corimas for almost nothing.
2017 Langster for £349 on various websites. Tempted if they had any in my size.
Sloping top tube though, right? hmmm #smashybollocks
