Epping is great fun and pretty easy going regarding technical difficulty.
Not SE, but a few folks (including myself) often ride out from SE London.

I'm in SE too. I'm compiling a load of offroad routes near this part of the world to be published shortly on here. For now try Epping with the badgers, Thames Path, etc

Not SE, but back when I was in London, I did my first mtb riding around Leith Hill, Guildford area. Well worth the train ride.

This just happened, any recommendations for good novice trails (SE based) in/near London? Swinley worth a visit? Also thinking of doing some skill sessions at Lee Valley if anyone has any experience of them?
