  • Hi all,

Selling a Di2-specific Tonic Fabrication Vanishing Point frame with a 10v Ultegra 6770 groupset, Chris King headset and a pair of 3T Funda forks. Here's what it used to look like when it was a rideable bike:

    • It's a compact frame with the same geometry as a medium-sized Lynskey Cooper. ETT is 54cm and the HT is 145mm.
    • Fancy wet paint job, the graphics are painted in.
    • Di2 only.
    • Comes with a complete 6770 group set (172.5mm cranks, 50/36 rings, I think the cassette will be 12/25). It's all unmarked.
    • The Funda forks come with room for 15mm of spacers.
    • Black Chris King classic headset.

I must have had disposable income when I ordered it: the frame was £1.7k and the groupset was on offer at a grand, making the grand total in excess of £3k - I can't believe I ever had that much money to burn, what's worse is I've barely ridden it. I got it four years ago and it hasn't been outside for the last three. It will have covered a couple of hundred miles at most.

    Here's a review of a horizontal-tubed frame: http://road.cc/content/review/37854-tonic-vanishing-point-frameset
(I had the opportunity to buy that frame and wish I had, I think Tokyo Fixed moved it on for five hundred quid)

I'll grab some detailed photos if I can attract any interest from a monied forum-frequenter.
Looking at an eye-watering £1750 for it - obvs that'd include carriage if need be - otherwise I live in Howden, which is near Goole / Doncaster / York / Leeds sort of an area.

I've got a couple of pairs of Chris King Classic wheelsets too if someone is really feeling spendy.

I won't hold my breath though!

    EDIT - had a re-think on remunerations. How's about:

    • £1100 for the frame, fork and King headset
    • £1550 for the whole thing
  • lovely

  • Top seller also.

  • Thank you Sirs, you are too kind x

  • I rode the Chip Race ti. around France then hung it up on my wall for two years if that makes you feel better

  • All I can say is thank god it's too small for me. Beautiful bike and GLWS. Always had a soft spot for them since my Tonic

  • Kindasorta. Recently I've feeling a bit sad about 'The Ones That Got Away' and spent some time staring at the photos I took of that Chip Race. Feels like I married the wrong sister, I've still got my Betty Leeds but it looks like shit - recently I took it apart because its covered in chips and there's loads of rust breaking out.

Seems like I sold all my cool stuff, nobody knows what I did with the money, and now I'm old and everything has gone.

    Hello darkness my old friend...

  • it's nice, always wanted a tonic, still want one. this one's too small

  • Here's some vanity shots of the frame taken by Tony from Tonic Fab after they'd had it painted.

  • 2 things that would tempt me given its payday

    1. stack and reach
    2. frame only and frameset only price
  • To address temptation #1, this is everything I know about the frame's geometry.

  • Well this is spitting out stack 544 and reach 354 without the headset stack which is 31.4 .. all those numbers are favourable. You have price in mind for frameset? What is the biggest tyre it can take?

  • Dropping the $$, I think I was being too ambitious.

    • £1100 for the frame, fork and King headset
    • £1550 for the whole thing
    • Posting it abroad ain't a problem, but might be a few more $$ to consider for the carriage.
  • +1 for a top seller.

Do you want it back? I'm not in to road riding at all at the mo :(

  • I'd love to have it back!
Unfortunately my house looks like Steptoe's f*cking yard, my Precious Things strewn everywhere. Bikes and bike stuff that I don't use now, loads of pairs of fancy speakers I never use now. The Joanne recently accused me of hoarding, and has shut-down my plan to buy a massive, fuck-off Lego Super-Star Destroyer.

Bottom line is: I'm not allowed any more things until I remove some of my existing things, and re-think my damaging spending habits and consider the underlying reasons for my behaviours.

  • Any interest @ £1350 / shipped for the whole thing?

    le sigh x

  • Haha, the unknowable and unfillable void. Too painful to consider the why.

  • Pls. Someone.

  • Updated the photos after Photobucket nuked my life's work.
The bike's still around and looking as unridden as ever! - £1325?

I've seen so much worse for so many more monies ...

  • I did search for this thread and wanted to bump it the other day when you posted the wanted .. the temptation (for frameset) is real!

  • ... aaaaaaaand I'm deffo up for splitting the bike if anyone's arsed: happy to sell the frameset [frame / fork / headset] and gruppo separately.

  • offer of the day. it is now an e-tap build in waiting !

  • I'd be interested in:

    The wheels
    Stem, assuming it's a Thomson
    Headset

If you want to fire me over a price?

    Cheers Andy
