I was looking at these as they are at my budget point and seem more expensive on other sites

Replacing a spoke will be far easier on the other options, they're not that wide and the tyres they come with are considered to be shit, so yeah kinda.
- I'm biased because I think they are very hard on my eyes

Yeah the white decal is a bit OTT.
But the DT's don't seem much better visually. The both brands come on one of the complete bikes from canyon.

So I'm still confused.
Can you take the QR out and just replace it with the through axel?
Does it require any other parts?
