I care what lathes people use, but only so I can then not listen to them and just blather on about mine. Its's a Hardinge HLV tool room lathe, one of the proper ones made in Essex before they went over to the US. It's got a great system for mounting the chucks, utilizing a taper nose system that twists and locks into place. The main problem with this being that it is very hard, and therefore expenisve to get chucks, or more specifically back plates, for them. Hello? anyone? I've got mills to talk about still.....
