I had VERY minor astigmatism but my prescription had not changed in quite some time. I had it done at Optical Express on Shaftesbury Ave. I think it was about £2k-ish. I was at the cheaper end of the spectrum TBH. They offer financing at silly cheap rates - I think I paid £500 up front and then about £40/month for almost 2 1/2 years. It was about what I was paying for disposable contacts every month. No brainer for me really.

My prescription is super light but I do so much multiscreen work that I get migraines more frequently as my prescription worsens so I just wear specs all the time. Only really thinking about contacts for riding so I can wear shades without needing prescription sunnies. I used to just deal with the blurriness playing rugby but its just got to the stage where I would struggle to instantly recognise someone 20 or so yards away so potentially dangerous cycling without some sort of correction.

I was lasered because I got tired of dry contacts from the wind when cycling - even with standard cycling eyewear

Any suggestion of what sort of cake suits this pan set?

I did the mixture for marble cake but to fill them x3 would need 1.5kg of sugar, 1.5kg of self raising flour, 6 blocks of butter, 24 eggs... it's waaay too big for anything normal.

I wouldn't do marble cake in such a shallow tin, but your quantities seem a bit off, 3-4 eggs does one 8" tin of that depth in a marble cake density, so 12-16 eggs would do all three 9" tins. I think they are pitched at thin sponge cakes for doing multi-layer sandwiches, you could do a Victoria sponge recipe with 6 eggs and get three thin 9" layers.

They came out ok, the one on the right is just one layer of it but the rings kinda vanished as it went up a bit(hopefully when I cut the top away and put icing on tomorrow it fixes that and has cleanish rings inside).
That's 2x this, one chocolate one not and then the leftover non chocolate mix went to make the loaf tin with some more cocoa thrown in to make it half half again.

Can you book a bike in advance onto the Eurostar by physically going to St Pancras? The Eurodespatch people keep ignoring my emails and I can't get through on the phone.

Olives and barbs for hydraulic hoses - are they universal, and can be used on all makes of hose?

At least two different sizes for shimano, so I would guess not.
-
• #85846
No
As per previous post shimano have two sizes and others have their own.

And why is even buying the fucking tools and mounts for hydraulic brakes such a pain in the arse?
On the Shimano olive situation - do you buy according to hose diameter, or something else?

Where to buy amalgamating tape for bar tape?
-
• #85849
Yes
Especially as new shimano needs an adapter to attach their funnel
I spent ages searching for it, only to discover one came in the other box of a pair of shifters.

I use Lenstore - good Quidco rates and there's usually always a voucher code floating about online.
