What year Cinelli Mash Parallax

Hi Everyone. First post so go easy please. I've got my eye on the above bike I've seen in a cycle shop. The frame is black and white with a bit of blue. This is selling for a grand. Me thinks it's a couple of years old being that the 2017 frame is light blue and white. Is this an older frame and has the geometry changed on the 2017. I'm 5ft 8ins and the frame is a 54cm. The guy in the shop adjusted the seat post and the seat post was around 100mm out of the frame. Me thinks it's a little low and should opt for a 52cm. I'm currently riding a 10 year Cannondale Cad5 in a 50cm which I know is to small. Thanks for replies. dennis

Realistically you're best to get yourself on a frame with the correct top-tube length and go from there. If the top-tube is correct for you, then 100mm of seatpost is probably good. Another factor, (which matters less on modern frames with the sloping top tube) is the stand over height, ie: if you brake suddenly and need to step down off the saddle, will you have anough space to "land" without crushing any important bits?

The reason I say this is because my brother and I are both 6ft spot on but have different length legs, therefore ride different size bikes.

Update. Because I can't upload a photo so you can't see the picture to determine what year. I rang the bike shop this morning and asked if they could get the same bike in a 52cm. They said yes and no. Yes they have one at the same price as a 2017 model which is £150 dearer (apparently the bike I'm on about is an old model) and no the 52cm is not £1000. Oh well.
