I use one of these Milwaukee battery powered ones with various 3 inch 3M sponges (i dont get on with wool heads/mops). Took the stupid side grip off though.
It does the job, but is tricky in to use without marking the paint in the tight spots. There is a knack to it. Machine polishing a bike frame is a really tricky job anyway to be honest, as its such an awkward opject to handle, and there is so little space to actually maneuver the polisher around. Especially the rear triangle.
I'm looking at getting one of these new Rupes iBrids soon though, as they look perfect for my needs. They are pretty pricey though, so am on the wait list with my supplier to get their demo one for a few days to see how i get on with it, before dropping the cash on one.

Well, he's got a point, of course. It is just that little bit nicer though.
Any tips on polishers for bike frames? I've got polishers and DA sanders which are ideal for car panels, but they're a bit beefy for bike frames, and I'm getting a bit bored of doing it all by hand.
