But looks to me like you swung and missed on more than you hit. If this season doesn't go well, changes at the top @WornCleat
No major team other than Arsenal will keep a manager for more than three or four years in future. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern all swap and change with regularity. If we get two more good years out of Conte I will be happy. The days of the SAF style regime are long gone. Wenger is an exception and some may argue, a good example of why managers should not stay too long.
I am not disgruntled with our purchases. A decent number of good arrivals and some real upgrades among them. Even yesterday's last minute signing, Zappacosta, looks right for a Conte team. Conte had called him up for Italy in the past. A RWB, taller than Moses and the second best crosser of the ball in Serie A last season. Apparently he is also not prone to foul throws. So a better position at RWB than before.
Even and LWB, Kenedy unexpectedly stays. We have conver for the excellent Alonso.
Conte will have to use more players than last season but now he has a bigger pool to select from. Players like Fabregas will get more playing time.
The real question is whether the buys were Conte's or Emanelo's. The ones that have actually come rather than those that didn't strike me as more Conte people. Lukaku and others look more like Emanelo. This is a positive.
We may win nothing this year. I would hope that we will win something. It would be foolish to expect to win the league every year and from an ever more competitive PL, folly to think that one can now dominate the CL. Looking forward to an enjoyable season.

The one that I think Conte would be disappointed on is Lorente going to spurs he has suggested he would like him in since last Jan, but as you say an ok window in the end, I just wish there wasn't the last min dash to fill places that needed cover. Also the Costa saga continues but he could go today. I hope so don't want that hanging over the squad.
Feels like your squad is thin, not as thin as ours but still thin for the pressure that's going to come as champions and European competition. And conte's a competitive manager he wants to win everything, so probably won't be doing a wenger in the early rounds of the cups, and abramovich will be applying pressure to do well in the champions league.
Think batshuayi will come good and now conte will have to use him, either as a change of pace striker off the bench or to spell morata.
