James,
I have fitted the Y to these bars and due to the long reach on them I don't think you can get an ideal fit with even the longest of the Y cables
You end up with a tight fit from shifter to shifter and a Chunk of excess on the shorter side as it goes through the drop. The trouble is that the plastic on the Y join is quite bulky so you will end up with that being noticeable through your bar tape.
(Not the end of the world, I am
living with it quite comfortably)
I'm pretty sure those 9170 shifters will have 3 ew ports each, just use one as a master, get the right length ew for Junction to Master and then again for master to secondary shifter using second port. Much tidier!

Isn't they Y junction meant to be inside the bars? Don't all the cables go inside them? Also is the reach on the aeronovas that long? On weight weenies people were saying it's about 94mm which should be fine for me. previous bars were 80mm but with previous generation di2/hydro and new shifters have 1cm less reach.
Thank you so much for your help and insight
What length ought i go for for 44cm 3t aeronova bars?
Also am assuming the 700mm cable is to the rear mech, what length ought i get to go from the junction box to the front mech?
Cheers
James
