Really rubbish, I hope this sort of incident doesn't occur again and/or lead to more
rabbitrabid-proof fences being introduced in pro cycling.

Tbh I can't think of any other sport where fans have such unrestrained access to vulnerable athletes moving at such speeds-even watching riders on climbs such as Huez is stressful so I can't imagine what it's like for the riders when idiots are letting smoke bombs off meters from the road and running alongside them yelling in their ears. People are dicks, more restricted access is inevitable...
