once the build problems are sorted they make amazingly practical bikes
my friend is considering going 650b on her CdF, mainly because it's a little bike and 32c+ tyres look ridiculous and increase the standover height too much...
I was going to help her with it, but what are the things to look out for?

Cdf is a disc brake bike no? Should be pretty plain sailing.
With rim brakes that extra drop can involve some compromises.
Fork/chainstay clearance (width) might limit your tyre width. I just get away with 35mm kojaks on a tight clearance 80s road frame. I also had to cut my alu guards and add guard fittings (clamps round seatstays and fork blades, because as a race frame it didn't have any eyelets) and other things.
{ late to the party }
This Ribble looks ace.
I'm sure you'll never have a problem running road pedals, but if you do ever run wider or flat pedals be careful of pedal strike. Your bb will have dropped a bit with the conversion.
I ran double sided (atacs on side, flats on the other) pedals. They were a bit wide and I ended up in a ditch, at midnight, miles from anywhere, with a busted kneecap and bent rear wheel :-0 650b conversions are still ace, once the build problems are sorted they make amazingly practical bikes.
