From interwebz research I think I just need a new spider lockring which I've ordered as it was inly £8 and the tools to remove/install it which I don't but could track down a shop in Ed to do for me.
Alternatively, I may need a new spider too. I've pm'd @ewanmac to confirm as he said he'd the same issue but he's not been back on the forum yet.

Locating a lockring shouldn't be an issue-the tools on the otherhand will require an unwanted visit to a high end bike shop ðŸ˜
