Enamel painting is still one of the toughest finishes about that's why Brompton use it.

Bromptons are powder coated not enamelled. Stove enamel could be tough, but all the good stuff was taken out years ago as it gave you all over body cancer, so its crap compared to what you had on your Raleigh record nowadays.
