Still very nice, why the ahead stem?
Was the qu'il one too flexy ?

Indeed it was, needed a longer stem, ideally with a slight rise and found this on PlanetX for £3, so why not?

Supposedly one of the best ahead stems for any classy, retro steel frame. I like its shape but have you perhaps considered painting it black. Really loved that rad pain finished up all black from the previous incarnation. :)
