Maybe the loveliest in terms of finish/aesthetics, but not the best riding from experience - the Americans had that nailed some time in the early 90s with the Salsa a la Carte/Bontrager Racelite/WTB Phoenix. All TIG'd and not the greatest finish but strong, light and ride great*
OK, the WTB is finished really well, it is a Steve Potts built bike though.

My 1990 Rocky Mountain, which I've had since 1990. Though it's currently in bits.

That Zip is intriguing - it has mudguard eyelets and the dropouts with no cutout like an MB1, the paint looks mint as well, it notoriously got battered so I wonder if it's a repaint? I can't tell if it has the 'number xxx of 500' decal at the sop of the down tube, the spec is spot on though, down to the modded pedals and clips/straps (except the saddle).

FYI retro MTB fans, I'll be bringing a load of retro MTB stuff down to Herne Hill bike jumble on the 2nd Sept, need to clear some spares out.
Apologies if that piece of flagrant self promotion is frowned upon.

Was just to ask you about that, apparently under the paint, mine has the number of the build.

I'dLove a P series, but with that I'd keep the frameset and chainset and replace the rest.

This came up in the local ads. If only it wasn't too big...
Mid-nineties I was a big fan of their Skyrunner Carbolite
