So I called the driver up on the intention of working this out between us, figuring he wouldn't want the hassle of insurance claims. But he then went on to state that it was my fault and that he's not liable, and that I'm lucky he's not chasing me up on damages to his car. Great start to the bank holiday weekend.

That's the plan. Didn't want to make a fuss, just wanted costs for new frame and anything else that can't be salvaged covered, but he then scolded me for overtaking station vehicles on the inside, ignoring the fact I was on a cycle lane and he was cutting across traffic to turn right.
