Very nice! When can I have a go in it?!

• #36453
daring... are you going to have to yank the front seats out to fit?
can't you hide it in the howardcave?

The bloke selling it is getting cold feet. Can't say I blame him. It's a steal at the price I offered.
You can def have a go. It's a one owner 998, baby poo brown, saddle brown interior and hub caps.
I wonder if I can turn a profit buying and selling with the green b money as the capital investment?

I can probably fit it under the racing car if I sell the fucking massive speakers (that were also "too much of a bargain" to not purchase).
I am a fucking mug. I can't resist a bargain, but then can't bring myself to sell anything.

Never sell anything old unless space dictates. Ever.

Kill* your darlings. Don't let the things you own, own you.

3.6 would go to 3.9 I believe.
That said I'm a little confused, the 3.6 gains 200cc on the 3.4 due to a longer stroke - bore size is the same.
If the 3.4 gains 300 cc by the bore going from 96mm to 100mm surely the extra stroke of the 3.6 would mean it gains more than 300cc?

Bloody hippy.
Own all the things.
And hide them in the garage so the poor people can't see them.

Only second or third time seeing the Levorg STI in the flesh (on the way home).
Couldn't resist a snap.

Exhausts- would a flat plane crank, horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engine benefit (in any way) from an X-pipe?
The cat section of the exhaust is available either as an X-pipe arrangement or as two superset pipes, hence my question.
Equal length manifolds if it makes a difference.

The third time I drove it after picking it up from Brockley, the choke pull rod snapped in two.
First job of work then, tomorrow, is to try and re thread the rod and inner cable, through the existing outer sheath, using graphite lube and a nice jiggling action.
Should be straightforward, I'm sure it won't be.

I sold a 350z i had over the summer. First car i han in over 15 years (more of a bicycle guy i guess). Great driving car but it dident really grow on me beyond that.
Looking at a -93 ghibli for the 2nd time today. A model ive been wanting to have for 20 years. Ideally id like a GT but cant really afford a nice one of those as prices seem to be going up.
It drives nice but its not nearly as polished on the road as the 350z. This car takes some getting used to before one can drove it proper i imagine, unlike the nissan which made u think u were a pro driver within minutes of sitting down in it. The ghibli has bit of delayed throttle response partly because of the gurbos i imagine but also because a feeling that 90% of the throttles mechanical range does nothing whilst the last 10% of the range is bit like no power or max power.
I missed the 70-80s porsche train as i waited to long n they are now way out of my price range for a nice one. Dont want the same to happen with the ghibli. Should i just buy it ???! !!!!

Find an owners club/forum- ask if the throttle response is "they all do that", or a known fault? Does sound like typical 90's low-compression turbo delivery though.

Hey Neil
Yeah i have talked with a few. The general thinking seem to be that they could be like that but also, its a handmade maserati, they are all different and with their own characteer. Embrace it perhaps ;)?

I think it can do from what I remember of my flat 6 in my legacy. Needs careful tuning (length/diameter etc) iirc though.

Seriously strong wabi-sabi game.
Imo this is how all* old estates should look.
*except for the s4, and Alpha 159
I think so, I haven't got all the details. I'm trying to get him to go up to 3.8 but he's not keen to spend any more than he has to.
