  • Recently picked this lovely frame up from @Green_Wheels (thank you again!) and am just waiting on the last few bits to sell from another build to afford to finish this one off..

  • So far in terms of components I've accumulated a dura ace x mavic open pro wheelset, Sugino 75 cranks and bb (will be putting a silver zen on this), a concor supercorsa saddle and a lovely lugged nitto s84 seatpost.. and I have a dura ace HP7410 headset on the way.
Thinking Nitto jag and some flat bars or slight risers, but still unsure..

  • Thinking Nitto jag and some flat bars

please no! Level stem with flats or drop stem with risers :) Looking forward to the build!

  • how does one sub a thread? I've not managed to see that yet (because im stupid)!

  • Scroll to the top, on the right is a follow button

    #subbed

  • Either by commenting on or by going to the box at the top of the thread with three full stops and in there you will find a follow box.

  • There's something wrong on Pedal-Room, hubs are DA7600 not 7400.
Lovely frame, would like to see it with a level stem and compact bars.

  • followed. in it to win it

  • Haha, I may actually, not really a fan of risers unless it's quite slight. I feel my hands are too high on my rossin so may switch the jag to there and put that flat stem on the orrell. Makes sense I guess as the slope on this tube would bring the bars to about the same level on each bike. Cheers bud, I'm really excited for it!

  • Ah perfect, cheers for pointing that out bud, too early this morning when I uploaded it.. Yeah the more I think of it the level stem seems like the best option. For some reason I only feel comfortable on narrow bars, do you know of any compact drops that are sub 36cm?

  • Deda Piegas come in 38cm, but they're measured outside to outside, so they'd be 36cm c-c equivalent.

  • From a functional pov, drop stem and risers is completely pointless, but I like the look better than flats on a drop stem hence the comment. +1 for compact drops, deda piegas are nice...

  • Finding bars sub 36cm is quite a task, maybe Nitto do some but i don't know.

  • Thanks for the link bud, I'll definitely have a look at those!

  • I've found the nitto drops in a 34cm, but they're the standard pista style so I think the drops may be a bit low, does anyone know if Nitto do compacts?
Found this link so going to have a look at options

  • nitto m106 don't know the width tho

  • Cheers bud! I'd actually just stumbled across them and managed to find them in a 26.0 clamp size, so hard to find anything that narrow though, last build I used drops I had to go for the 33cm Alpina sprints..
Know anything about if this site is trustworthy or not?

  • Don't know that shop, so no experience. I guess the choice of bars also depends on your budget. Personally, I'd get piegas or soma hw1 which come in silver. Piegas are cheap and you can just sand off the anodization or whatever it is around the sleeve area so you get silver bars. I did it before, it's about an hour of sanding and polishing (by hand).

  • Oh nice one mate! That's a really good finish you got on the as well, cheers!

  • Thanks! I think the finest grit I used was 800 which gave a similar finish to the cinelli stem.

  • Today was a good day for receiving parcels! Just waiting on the seatpost and chain now I think. Going to put the jag on the rossin and move the flat stem over to this one for the build. 20c tyre for the clearance on the rear stays..
