I've spoken to Hope and it's now their practice to mount the banjo inboard, to give it more protection.
Which makes sense I suppose. But using the same banjo doesn't: the caliper would need to be mounted at 3 o'clock for it to route the hose up the leg.
The guy at Hope suggested fitting a straight banjo, which is pretty poor having just spent
~£250 with them.

M6 hole on brake cylinder:
1x Item 02
1x Item 05 for Stainless hose
1x Item 06
1x Item 09
1x Item 10
Maybe if you are using a whopping great rotor with the E4 then the inside position is workable.
But yeah. Weird.
OK. Not that weird. If you google image search the calipers it shows that either position is workable - you just pick the one that works for your frame geo / mount / and rotor size
