Which bit of the final 5 kms, which is what I said in my posting yesterday, is 3.5 kms to go outside of?
Your comprehension skills have clearly suffered from excessive bike riding.

That's bullshit. Technical finishes are more likely to see the peloton break up, meaning both the sprinters and the GC riders want to be at the front. Which makes crashes more likely as everyone fights for position.

"On both the roundabouts at 3 kms and 1 km to go they took them the long way round, when it would've been much, much safer to just turn them left 90 degrees."
Yet no crashes happened at either of those points.

Sprinters and GC always want to be at the front. The majority of the technical aspects were inside the 3k so the GC guys don't need to worry so much about losing minutes due to a huge crash.

Well, I think Andy was saying that the whole run-in was ridiculous and bound to cause, erm, run-ins, and he used the roundabout direction around the roundabouts as an example. I don't think he meant to say that it was the only thing about it that was ridiculous.

I didn't see anyone crash inside the final 3k

The finish was fine.
The pinch point over a little bridge the other day was worse.

I'd like to see Christian Knees in a Head and Shoulders advert.

The camera work at the end of the stage today was exceptionally awful. Must have been difficult for Millar to shout 'look, Froome is attacking, see' when the camera was one bend ahead and showing an empty road.

Moscon is looking savage on those short climbs. He's going to be fun to watch in the classics.
-
• #138
It's remarkable how Sky can find someone like Moscon and help him become a rider that can do what he's done on the climbs. Shame about the slightly bad taste his racist comments leave in the mouth though.
-
• #139
I forgot about that.
His comments afterwards make it even worse:
“My conscience is clean, I accepted the punishment, I took my break.”
Asked if he was repentant, Moscon said, “I didn’t kill anyone and the accusations are not completely founded. But I prefer to not talk about it anymore.”
Good rider, poor human.

Interesting stage today, could see another GC shake up.

Luis Leon Sanchez must be feeling like a right chump just now.

Alberto knows tactics, plus he's hard as ;-)

How did Tejay get on?
-
• #145
He only fell off twice that I saw.
-
• #146
He fucked up Carlos too???
cunt

Apparently there was a bump in the road caused by a tree route, it brought at least five riders down.
-
• #148
It did look like something in the road. I regularly nearly crash like that when I daydream too much, forget to hold the bars properly and hit a bump.

The commentators on ITV4 made a passing reference to Betancur going down with van Garderen, then didn't mention CB again. I came onto this thread to see if there was any mention.
Such a shame for him, in the Tour and the Vuelta up to today he was having a stormer, another injury going into the off-season could throw him off again.

That fucking Alpecin advert.
Given the chaotic nature of the sprints in the Vuelta having more technical run-ins serves to slow the bunch down and reduces the risk of high speed mass pileups.
