Just to clarify, the hooning it is on my own time; speed limit or under for family times!
I'm in Japan, as opposed to Oz.

Come on moter heads, is the Subaru a good idea?
Yes! Seems like a good choice for your needs.

My little girl loves cars. Can't talk properly yet but says broom broom at cars and loves my loud red 306. Still, precious cargo, gotta be careful.

Also found this, volvo heritage parts are almost "off database" you have to ask specially for them.
There are a number of volvo platform specific parts for my vw engines volvo that have been off the books for years, I have no doubt lots of them have gone the way of the scrapper because of this. Have been building a list of these cross referenced with known good pattern parts for others. Window seals on v70 are ok for now thoughWent to my dealer to turn off airbag light as my gear won't do it. £56 and turns out there's won't either, still tried to charge me though. Again, the right piece of gear (volvo interface 2000!) no longer held by most dealers, only newer vida/dice which doesn't do everything on 850 and x70 cars.

I'm looking for an estate that's for the family, but also quick.
You've come to the right place

I know someone at Subaru here, so perhaps I can sort a good amount off one (new or almost new).
There's so many nice, used estates here, though!

What kind of sleeper?

Legacy good choice, miss mine and imo seats most comfortable I have ever sat in. Better than my 2012 F11 5 series

So a certain red Volvo estate would be perfect...?
-
• #36388
Speaking of red estates mine is at the Volvo main dealer with a bill for £1,368 waiting to be paid.
I don't think I should be allowed cars.
-
• #36389
what are they doing for that?
starting to think that £5k a year to drive a new car is not so bad value after all.
actually, it's more like £6k a year. Plus petrol. -

and road tax and insurance and tyres.

£375 aircon pipe
£465 handbrake cables
£105 boot trim fixings update
£222 gaiterAnd some smaller bits and bobs.
Main dealers are expensive, it appears.

• #36392
I shall keep hold of it now.

• #36393
Handbrake cable is impressive.
-
• #36394
I think it's braided Unicorn mane
-
• #36395
The throttle cable was (IIRC) around £150, there are two handbrake cables, and the price includes fitting, so Volvo is at least consistent here.
The annoying thing is that a £0.02 P-clip failed, allowing the handbrake cables to rub on the rear wheels, causing the wear which means that they must both be replaced.

Properly fucking cool.
Thread ends.
Hehe, when we brought junior home from I waited until we were on the straightest bit of dual carriageway possible halfway through the journey before giving it beans. Amid the screams of WTH etc I explained... in later life, when public autonomous EVs are the only transport, I couldn't tell him that his first ride was in actually an M3, but I didn't open it up Son.
