Cats cradle of zip ties works fine, and if you're concerned about the aesthetics it's pretty discreet.
I think I did one round each chainstay, one linking them, and one round the 'bridge' going through a hole in the guard.
P-clip and zip ties might feel more secure or elegant, not sure it would have many practical benefits though.
