Dremel took me ages, hacksaw took me not ages :)

Snips are quicker still.

Went the hacksaw route in the end, no dremel round mine :)
It's not perfect but fairly pleased with how it's turned out
Had to switch over to some skinnier tyres, front was ok but the rear bridge bit near the bb would rub pretty badly, even though I went for a lower profile screw than the one they supplied.
They are very solid with no rattling -for now.
Next stop, mud flaps!

Slight hiccup with the radial guards.
The the bolt that goes through the forks isn't long enough. I guess a trip to B&Q is in order -

So that the one that Cannondale have on their bicycle! they're annoying bugger, the mount that hold the stay to the mudguard can seized easily.

Bought a Van Nicholas VNT SLR Tapered Carbon Road Fork from here and thought I'd be able to stick some mudguards on it (Chromoplastic) but doesn't look like it, best price/quality ratio for winter fork still that Ribble one for £70?

Do you think these can be hacked for a 650c wheel?

Radials are here. Impressed.

Anyone want a set of 50mm GB? Stays + spares, various mounting bits if I can find them. Tatty but would polish up. Got Raw mudflaps installed. Tenner.

potentially. What's the min 700c tyre width do you think?
-
• #2988
Anything less than 32c would look a bit daft i reckon

Just ordered some radials -- but my charge plug doesn't have a chainstay bridge. Have been googling zip tie hacks. But wondering if anyone has a neat solution?
-
• #2991
Do you have a pic of the chainstay bridge?

Ah. That's a bit more of a challenge.

I have a bike like that the only solution I could think of is a P-clip around one of the chainstays then the issue is how do you make 'T' junction there to connect to the guard ..

Cats cradle of zip ties works fine, and if you're concerned about the aesthetics it's pretty discreet.
I think I did one round each chainstay, one linking them, and one round the 'bridge' going through a hole in the guard.
P-clip and zip ties might feel more secure or elegant, not sure it would have many practical benefits though.

Hacksaw or dremel. Hacksaw will probably be quicker :)
