Sensible, sounds good. You still in digs or is it van life again?
-
• #6403
Digs. Van needs a chunk of metal at the front replacing. Turns out the dent in it isn't non-structural enough to be ignored for the NZ equivalent of an MOT. Waiting on a quote for that.

Ouch hope it's not too pricey a fix.

I skipped GBBF as the weather was too nice to be indoors. Ended up at the White Horse which had a Tiny Rebel tap takeover. A few decent ones but I particularly liked the Stay Puft marshmallow porter.

That's a shame, the Cloudwater Bitter they did on Cask was one of the best bers I've had in a long while. Started me drinking Bitter again.
On another note I had some kind of Shindigger alco pop at Levy pride this weekend. Tasted like someone had dropped a load of refreshers in my beer. Bad.

I have a bottle that looks like that in the fridge. I think it's a chipotle porter though.

It is a porter. With real coffee beans. Which is why I am not at all tired after bottles of this 8% nectar
Also sourced the Brauwar Ambar imperial stout from the sklep at SheBu start of Uxbridge road

Great, thanks for that list.
I had a couple of glasses of Titanic Plum Porter - in fact, I tried all of their beers except the Plum Porter Reserve and I thought they were all excellent. Can't remember if we got a Binghams Vanilla Stout but I think I've had it before. Funny to see Ghost Ship in there as a winner, they have that on tap in one of my locals.

I delved into my secret stash the other night to share with a buddy. Wasn't too keen on the tequila barrel stuff. I don't know where the bottle came from that looks like the one above but probably a bulk brewdog order of random shit.

Found it. Fierce Dirty Sanchez is the Chipotle porter but there's another one in the cupboard Wee Fierce Dugges. 9% barrel aged wee heavy.

I've got a 24 x crate of Dead Pony club cans. I was given them as a gift for helping with a charity day but I'd sooner sell them and give that money to the charity.
Anyone fancy them for £35?

The Gypsy hill dipa I had in brewdog last night was great.
Brewdog though. It's a terrible brewery isn't it? Their beer was very uninspiring and very fizzy.
My mate had their dipa and it was bland. -

That sounds really snarky. I have a hangover.

One of my local pubs, the Great Northern Railway Tavern in Hornsey, is doing a sour takeover Friday - Sunday this week if anyone is interested

In Rake Bar in Borough Market. The Cloudwater DIPA is £13.40 a pint!!! Faaaaahk

• #6420
WTF?!?
-
• #6421
The cloudwater dipas were around £6 in Stormbird. All cask ales (eg. 5 Points, Marble) were flat rate of £3/pint.

I hope they mention that before they pour it.

Session 3.9% from First Chop also pretty pricey at £8.80

Nothing, felt like it was a bit pricey when we've only been to a handful of bars here so far. Figured we'd save money and have plans to visit a couple of breweries when we head to the south island instead...
