    not sure if its still the case but you can request narrow or wide range 3 speed hubs. Narrow range makes sense for round London. Although I'm more of a fan of 2 speed.

    You can in theory change the bars on an H-type but the angles are different and the stems go through extensive testing with a particular bar so are better suited to the original bar.

    FWIW I have a S type but got tired of the racing position. Couldn't find risers that I liked that fit so fit a bar riser thing:

    Which works fine and still folds ok, didn't even have to change the cables.

    Also FWIW still on the Bromton Kevlar tyres. Hundreds of miles. No punctures.

    I wish I knew this at the time. I have a wide range hub. Keep meaning to get some SRAM sprockets and take a dremel to them.

  • I think the internals are swappable. So buy a SA hub on ebay and switch them over (not a terribly hard job). I believe the standard ones they've made for years are narrow range (possibly wrong though).
