If you were building a cx bike and were a bit of a cheapskate, what group would you choose?
10 speed SRAM + x7 type 2 derailleur
Juintec / acor brakes

Yeh, this. "Exact actuation" or whatever it's called, so all SRAM 10 speed (MTB and Road) is compatible.
SRAM Rival shifters are cheap second hand and the same as Force near enough. Think the Red ones are a bit different.
Works with Shimano 10 speed cassettes.
Juintech brakes seem pretty good, although I've yet to actually use mine.

Plus narrow wide chainring

How does NW chainring work with 10 speed rear? I mean, doesn't NW require specific chain?

Nope

Yeah I have run nw on 10 and 11 speed in the past and not dropped chains, even without clutch rear mech

Latest 1x sram stuff is very decent, infact from all the manufacturers they have reached a point of "none are bad"
Latest sram slx finally has a clutch that doesn't wear out every 17 rides.
Well, sort of. I need help chosing a groupset.
I'm having a bike built for the impending #crossiscoming season. Frame and forks will be sorted. I'll most likely get the same wheelset as my mtb (hope pro4 disc), have tyres. Finishing kit and saddle chosen.
I'm having sleepless nights settling on groupset and need your help.
Main thing to bear in mind is that it's a cx bike that'll be raced all winter, so would rather not be replacing a dura ace mech all too often.
I've had shimano for as long as I've ridden bikes, but prefer 1x so I'm in a real dilemma as to which non-italian group to go with. I really like the idea of a purpose built 1x system.
Also all of my other bikes are shimano 10s and I've got a brand new 10s cassette I could use, but that would mean going down the trp spyre route (which I'm not at all opposed to). Unless I use a jtec shiftmate.
