    I had some of the parting off too (a new word for me - i intend to use it in thw course of conversation today).

    There is no DPC - it's a solid wall, c. 1900, and would have been toobcheap a house to have even a slate course put in.

    The parging is really cementy cement - taking it off is likely going to fuck the bricks underneath, unfortunatley, but I'll need to do it as I need to install a few air bricks.

    What's also odd is the copper strip embedded into it in places - a recent addition (comparatively), that doesn't lead anywhere, but has also been poked deep into the mortar in places.

    Digging up the concrete paving and the concrete lining the path (mixed with flint, ffs!) and it's modern looking sharp sand. Whci is good, as I was worried they had concreted down to the drain...
