How much?

I'm going to try tubeless on it before decide if I should flog/rebuild it.
I run the Thru Axle wheel with an adapter for QR so it would work for you too. -

Just after a price range really. Insurance for stolen bike came in.

100 quid for hub, 50 quid for a rim, £x spokes, £x build, maybe £150 for lights?
-
• #7932
Which lights? Questions questions.
-
• #7933
Any Busch & Müller. Mostly not £150.

For tnrc type things?

-
• #7936
Yes but CX at night you would like Revo.
-

CX (racing?) at night use batteries.

• #7938
Good.
Right. I'll start the parts build. -

While a dynamo is nice an audax season incl. LEL can be done with a battery light.
Although it can be done, a Dynamo light is brilliant even in the daytime through dark country lane which are plentiful in the UK, what nice is not having to only turn them on when you need them, instead of wanting them on.
Dynamo is always worth it.

Continuing my expensive wheels/cheap wheels conundrum, someone cleverly suggested that I could use my current wheels, which I had assumed would be too wide.
This is a 27c Pave on a 23mm internal, 27.5mm external WTB i-23 rim. It's seated fine, is it likely to explode and kill me as a result?
-
• #7941
No idea re explosion/death, but does it expose the sidewall, ie will you be riding on it?
-
• #7942
Depends how much I lean I guess. I'd imagine a non Open Tubular tyre would be better.

27c Pave on a 23mm internal
That's fine, the hoop stress on the carcase is still pulling outwards onto the bead hook.
-
• #7944
So my only risk is sidewall exposure?

If you can roll off the edge of the tread band, you've already crashed. You're probably not even going to get off the herringbone, unless you're Jobst Brandt

What a day

What do the current adaptors look like?
-
• #7950
One of these might work
Not sure which though....
QR or thru-axle?
I have SP dyno on both, DT 511db rim on TA one and LightBicycle U 65mm deep on the other QR hub one. Supernova lights.
Buy mine. It's great. (ignore all that nonsense about the tyre not seating ;) )
