I don't mind if people jump reds*. Gives me more incentive to chase them down, especially if they're on a motorbike.

    *that's a lie.

  • 'All Green Pedestrian Phase'

The rules of commuter racing clearly state that anyone that jumps reds has lost by default. :)

  • I make sure they lose properly.

  • Breaking the rules is losing properly.

    #hippyalwayswins

  • There are idiots doing the same on twitter, mob mentality.

  • 74.2% of cabbies' tweets are death threats to cyclists.

  • Well I for one hope they spend every waking hour of the next week trawling the streets looking for DJ. Keeps them busy and away from the rest of us.

  • The rest is Tommy Robinson retweets.

  • Saw a bunch of Crusties/hippies riding southwards down CS7 this morning, with black flags on poles flying off the rear of their bikes. What does it all mean?

*now edited on grounds of sensitivity

  • Just funeral, it was an actual funeral, or part of

  • Oh right. Thanks for that info, makes sense now.

  • Huh... apologies for the jokiness of my comment.

  • To the driver of the train from Peterborough to Kings Cross...
Please turn the fecking heaters off. I'm actually melting.

On the bright side, lovely chat last night on way back towards Oval with random chap who had just picked up a very nice old Raleigh from his dad. Always had a soft spot for an old Nottingham Raleigh and another two wheels on the road replacing four wheels can't be knocked either.

  • This morning while passing a line of buses on Walworth Road, one of them starts to pull out without warning. Not really too much of an issue, I was giving them a wide berth and there were another two lanes to play with. But I still swerved a bit. At that point the car behind me beeps so I turn and give them the statutory 2 second finger without saying a word.

They then pass and stop at the lights ahead. As I pass them again, I glance in and see someone who looks remarkably like my wife's ex-boss, who still gives her the odd bit if freelance work.

Either it was him and he recognised me and was just beeping a friendly hello (albeit at an inappropriate moment), or it wasn't him and it was just another impatient driver.

My wife is currently writing an email with the subject "Did my husband swear at you this morning?"

Normally, I wouldn't really care, I know why I did it and I stand by the circumstances. However, we are due to be going to their wedding anniversary garden party at their house this weekend........

I never see the guy, and the one time I do, I flip him off! Potentially.

  • He's a lovely guy too

  • Do your think Ben Stiller needs another shit script idea?

  • Anyone else notice that on the northbound segregated cycle highway at Ludgate Circus is frequently carpeted with a lot of glass? It may be the glass swept from The Albion Pub which is on the corner of Fleet St and New Bridge St, however, it could just be the street sweepers doing it. Either way it's an obvious deliberate move whoever is doing it because no one is that ignorant of where they are sweeping it.

  • This came up before on other cycle paths and may not be deliberate - maybe where glass gets collected and it falls through the truck or something.

  • There's often a lot of glass on CS2 outside Aldgate East station as well. I've seen street sweepers picking up glass and litter on the pavement there and ignoring the cycle lane. It may be that they leave it for the machines in the same way that they don't sweep the road.

  • 94 bus this morning, driven by a cunt

  • That's a very good point, it's gone today as it appears the roads were swept. Don't know if there's a something that can be done?

  • opinions needed...

If you are in the bus lane and a driver in the normal lane on the right wants to turn across the bus lane into a driveway, do you have right of way to continue and they have to wait for you to pass on the left or should you let them turn?

I was going at a fair speed this morning and a plasterer van indicated, let the guy in front of me passed then went for it... i was about 10m behind the first guy . didn't know if i should have stopped for him or if he should have waited?
